Requirement summary
- Applicants aged four years and above are normally photographed at the Passport Seva centre during the appointment.
- For a minor applicant below four years of age, carry one recent colour passport photograph measuring 4.5 × 3.5 cm with a white background.
- Follow any additional instruction shown in the appointment confirmation or issued by the Passport Seva centre handling the application.
How Photofitr checks the photo
- Crop, aspect ratio and output dimensions
- Background colour and consistency
- Head position, scale and visible margins
- File type and file-size limits where applicable
- Potential sharpness, lighting, shadow and expression issues
Common rejection risks
- Bringing an incorrectly sized or non-white-background photo for a child below four
- Using an old photograph that no longer reflects the child’s current appearance
- Assuming an adult applicant must upload or bring a printed photograph when centre capture applies
